Those situations of hating my job, counting hours until the workday is over and living toward my retirement is exactly what I’m trying to avoid by going to college! My older sister is in college and I hear her complain about late nights, papers and tests but at the end of the day she likes her school, has a lot of friends and is having a ton of fun. I’m so excited for my chance to live the “college life” and am just hoping I end up somewhere that allows me to enjoy my 4 years. One of my friends told me about this thing called AcceptEdge that tells you where you might fit well based on your grades and interests and it’s definitely helped me pick out a few options. My sister’s jealous that she didn’t have something to help her when SHE was choosing a school!

The life of a college student is a great time! That being said… classes can be pretty dull

What motivates me? Having worked my fair share of crappy jobs… anytime I think college sucks, I realize what’s waiting for me on the other side of the spectrum!

Rob, you are completely right of course! That is what I meant with the last couple of sentences. Just enjoy it, it is a good time, maybe the classes aren’t, but hanging out with friends, the life of a college student, is a good time!

Like Corey, I have yet to go to college. I’m super excited for it too.

In relation to your post, I had a friend who travelled about 6 different African countries. When she was telling us all about her trip, she mentioned several times how lucky she felt to be going to university the next year.

Anyways, I laughed so hard at that video! Have fun in China.

How about enjoy it, and be happy it’s not a 9-5 job for four more years. The more you get out if, the more you will enjoy in your career.

Ryan, I do agree with you, clubs are a great way to improve your college experience. I have joined a debate club last year and did other things which involves a lot of meetings to organize something and I consider that year as the best year of my high school. Joining clubs and sports also of course is indeed a good way to get more fun out of college!

I have yet to go to college (one more year!) and I’m pretty excited. I understand that school is important for succeeding, because knowledge is essential to getting where you want to get in life.

You should definitely not go to a college just because your ‘rents push it on you. Pick one that you like and go for it.
