There were four other students in the group working together to critiqe science journals. As a group we had to communicate via email to get our essays done. I was pretty much the initiator. I tried to keep everyone in check because it was my grade, too. Anyhow, half way through the semester we had to turn in a critique on "high altitude" and how it affects humans. Well, I finished my section of the critique a week early to post it for everyone to see. Three of the four other students began to do the same. The deadline to turn in the critique was drawing near. I emailed the student that hadn't responded and there was no answer. I was getting a bit worried. Others in the group noticed that the deadline was closing in on us and the essay paper wasn't complete. I decided to let the other students in my group know that I was going to do the section. However, another student decided to kindly finish it up. I agreed and told him that I would do his section next time. We all assumed that the other student that didn't respond had dropped the class, but that wasn't the case. She had been in bed with the flu for about a week and didn't bother telling anyone. We worked everything out in a productive way and the essay was turned in on time. I passed with an A and was very happy that the group worked together so well after all. Two tips that helped our group work together was to keep in touch and always do your best. If you are sick with the flu, it doesn't take much just to let someone in the class or group to know. Even if there is any conflicts, just get along. My group was amazing in getting the work done. I see it this way, college prepares you for a job in the future and you have to give it your all.
